Success for the 7th edition of Printemps Asiatique
With a record number of French and foreign collectors in Paris, an unrivalled auction calendar with remarkable results and a high-quality cultural programme that was a great hit with the public, Printemps Asiatique is bringing its 7th edition to a successful close.
In just 7 years, the event has established itself on the world stage of the Asian art market, unquestionably becoming one of the most important international events of its kind. This year, Printemps Asiatique attracted a number of leading foreign dealers, including regulars from TEFAF and Asian Week in London and New York.

Tenzing Asian Art
Iwona Tenzing: I emigrated from Poland to the US in 1985. From 1988 to 2015, I worked at Xanadu Gallery in San Francisco, where my journey into Himalayan art began. In 1998, I organized my first Himalayan art exhibition at Xanadu, during which I met my future husband, Norbu Tenzing Norgay. My marriage to Norbu gave me a personal connection to the Himalayas.

Two top sales and an exhibition of Vietnamese art
This June, Christie's is holding two Asian art sales: Art d'Asie on 13 June and Art of Asia, an online auction from 6 to 18 June, as well as an exhibition devoted to Vietnamese art to celebrate the centenary of the creation of the Indochina School of Fine Arts, featuring no fewer than nine artists including Lê Phô, Mai Trung Thu and Vu Cao Dàm.

YE Xingqian
YE Xingqian was born in 1963 and is a naturalised French painter of Chinese origin. He has been painting since the age of five. In 2008, after years in which his life as an artist was divided between working for food and creating, he devoted all his time to painting and set up his studio in a large room in Montreuil, just outside Paris. In 2018, five watercolours on rice paper entered the permanent collection of the Musée national des arts asiatiques - Guimet. In 2021, a large ink on canvas entere the collection of the Musée Cernuschi. In China, his painting, at first misunderstood, has been regularly exhibited for some years now, and the artist has made a name for himself.

Galerie Espace 4
Dedicated exclusively to the Art of Japan and in particular the Art of the Samurai, Galerie Espace 4 opened its doors in 1996 before Laurence Souksi and Frantz Fray took over as directors in 2005. Une exposition à découvrir au musée départemental des arts asiatiques de Nice jusqu’au 30 juin 2024
Le Musée Hergé de Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgique) s’associe au Département des Alpes-Maritimes pour dévoiler une exposition intitulée “Tintin, Hergé et Tchang”, dans deux lieux culturels d’exception à Nice, gratuits et ouverts à tous. De l’illustration à la bande dessinée en passant par la publicité, le dessin de presse et les arts plastiques, Hergé sera mis à l’honneur à travers une superbe sélection de dessins originaux et d’objets, présentés pour la première fois sur la Côte d’Azur. A travers cette double exposition, le public pourra découvrir au musée départemental des arts asiatiques de Nice 44 planches et 107 œuvres en plus des 72 œuvres dont 10 peintures d’Hergé et 32 planches qui seront exposées à l’espace culturel départemental Lympia.

Bertrand de Lavergne
One of the few dealers specialising in Chinese snuff bottles and porcelaine, Bertrand de Lavergne is a member of the CNES (Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés en objets d'art et de collection), the CNE (Compagnie Nationale des Experts en Art), the SNA (Syndicat National des Antiquaires), the ROCAD (Chambre Royale des Antiquaires de Belgique) and of the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society. He is co-founder of the Association des Spécialistes de la Céramique de Collection.
A gallery owner since 1985, in collaboration with Laurence Werlé (also a CNE expert) for 24 years, he has been exhibiting since 2015 in the heart of Paris, at 17 rue des Saints-Pères.

Pioneer of the Chinese graphic novel
From 20 March to 30 May 2024, the Espace Culturel ICICLE in Paris (35 avenue Georges V) is honouring the artist Li Kunwu almost 10 years after his first exhibition in France at the Musée Cernuschi.
Originally from Yunnan, a southern province bordering Vietnam, this self-taught artist was born during the mid-fifties and lived through the turmoil of history, which he recounted in the trilogy A Chinese Life, an autobiographical graphic novel that has been translated around the world

Yannick Lintz agreed to be interviewed for Printemps Asiatique. This is an opportunity to find out more about her career, her artistic tastes and her plans for the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts. Her policy for the museum is ambitious: to cultivate the institution's excellence and worldwide renown in its field, while working to make its permanent collections and cultural programme more immersive in order to appeal to the whole of society.
As part of a round table organised by Printemps Asiatique, Yannick Lintz will be speaking alongside professionals and specialists from the world of culture to analyse the new challenges facing museums of non-Western art in the 21st century.

“Séduction”, l’exposition à découvrir au Musée Pincé d’Angers
Un fonds extra-occidental remarquable dans le Grand Ouest
Les collections du musée Pincé se répartissent en trois grands ensembles : les civilisations antiques méditerranéennes, les civilisations de l’Amérique précolombienne et un troisième concernant les arts de l’Extrême-Orient (Chine et Japon). La collection asiatique du musée se distingue par ses céramiques et bronzes chinois ainsi que par ses objets en laque et ses masques de théâtre japonais. Les estampes japonaises sont, quant à elles, présentées par rotation dans le cabinet d’arts graphiques, au rez-de-chaussée du musée, en lien avec l’exposition temporaire annuelle.

Hiroshige: an exceptional collection of prints presented at the Guimet Museum
For the first time in France, the Guimet museum is bringing together a unique collection of prints by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) designed to decorate fans. Fans were common consumer items and were most often thrown away, making them very rare. From the Georges Leskowicz collection, one of the finest collections of Japanese prints, these works of art were made between the 1830s and 1850s. They are among the most elaborate of the artist's work, one of the last great Japanese artists of the Edo period (1603-1868). These fan leaves reveal the graphic inventiveness and great diversity of Hiroshige's work.
